I can't get no...

... concentration.

I have a ton of work to finish by tomorrow evening and my mind is flitting all over the place like a hyperactive butterfly. It has been doing this all week and I would like it to stop. Please. Now!

I wonder if there is something I can eat to improve my ability to focus on the job at hand. Or some mental exercises. Perhaps I need to Google that...

No!
Back to work.

  1. i did it for you. oatmeal, yogurt, and blueberries help. also egg yolks, spinach, cranberries, strawberries, and sweet potatoes. but i'm guessing you shouldn't try them all at once or you will outthink us all. =o}

  2. :-)
    Thank you!
    I like all of those - this brain food doesn't sound at all bad.

  3. mmm, yummy ... I agree the food does sound very good. Sometimes, I have to sort other stuff before I can focus on a big project, e.g. if there are one or two smaller relatively urgent tasks to be done as well. However, if your mind if jumping around at random, thinking about all different things relating to R, or all the stuff that you need to complete at home ... perhaps keep a notepad that you can scribble it all down in, like a to do list (mine is ENORMOUS) but once it's added to the list, I stop worrying about it ... and then I ensure the list is reviewed once a week. We're all different, and have different worries, but it might help?

  4. Boo - you sound scarily organised. I bet you are a good project manager.
    I have my diary that I am fairly religious about using, but I've never really got the hang of the To Do list. My memory used to be pretty good, and I could keep and juggle loads of stuff in there. Now thoughts go in and out of my head and I spend ages chasing my tail, trying to track down the thought I want.
    Reading that, it does rather sound as though I need to start writing things down more, doesn't it?
    D'oh!

  7. Hi Boo, I'm still here, just about. I'm still swamped with work (which I guess is a good thing) and was away at the weekend, leaving no time for blogging.
